After introducing the instant translation to comments, photo captions and user biographies now way back in 2016, Instagram finally releases an important update to automatically translate the text that appears in the Stories. The new feature was officially announced by the leaders of the social and will soon be available to all users. A further step towards a use more and more comfortable and global app after Instagram itself added i automatic subtitles from the audio for the Stories, but only in English.
How automatic translation works in Instagram Stories
Instantly translating the text that appears in the Stories of Instagram users will really be very simple. It will be the app itself, in fact, to detect that the content that appears on the screen it is in a different language than the one set by who is watching the Stories and will suggest with a button “See translation” the ability to automatically translate the text. Then a click of users on the button (which will appear at the bottom of the screen) to get a automatic translation of the content.
Instagram, officially announcing the new feature in his app, he also communicated that – at least at the moment – there will be more than 90 languages supported. The promise of the social network is to expand in next months the offer by adding other languages.
Audio translation is not yet available
Instant translation, as mentioned, currently only works for the text that appears in the Stories. In fact, it is not possible to obtain the sottotitoli in our language (and in all the others that are not English) for the audio that is heard in the temporary content of the app. It is not yet clear if and how much Instagram will introduce this too new feature, much requested by the users of the social network.
