On Tuesday evening in the first semi-final first leg of the Italian Cup, Juventus beat Lazio 2-0, with goals from forwards Federico Chiesa and Dusan Vlahovic, both in the second half. Juventus played at home: the return leg is scheduled in Rome, at Lazio, on April 23rd. The return home, in front of an audience mainly made up of one’s own fans, is considered an advantage: according to the rules of the Italian Cup it is given to the team that had obtained the best placing in the last championship (Lazio had finished second, Juventus seventh).
The other semi-final of the Italian Cup is Fiorentina-Atalanta, the first leg of which will be played in Florence tomorrow, Wednesday 3 April, at 9pm. The return match will be played on 24 April. The Italian Cup final is scheduled for May 15th between the winners of the two semi-finals.
