Karl-Anthony Towns’ Historic Performance Not Enough as Hornets Beat Timberwolves
In an unforgettable night at the Target Center in Minneapolis, Karl-Anthony Towns of the Minnesota Timberwolves put on a show, but it wasn’t enough to secure a victory as the Charlotte Hornets emerged with a 128-125 win.
Towns made history by becoming the first player in NBA history to make at least 10 triples, 10 doubles, and 10 free throws in a single game. The Dominican center closed the game with an impressive 62 points, 8 rebounds, and 2 assists, making 10 shots from long distance. His performance on Monday night was nothing short of unstoppable.
Before the game, Towns was already averaging 21.6 points, 8.9 rebounds, and 3.0 assists in 32.9 minutes of play over 41 games with the Timberwolves. His stellar performance against the Hornets only continued to inflate these numbers.
Towns’ first half was nothing short of spectacular, with the center scoring an incredible 43 points. It seemed as though he was on track to break records, but he managed to score an additional 19 points in the second half, falling short of any additional feats.
While Towns’ historic performance was a sight to behold, ultimately it was the Hornets who emerged victorious in a closely contested game. Despite the loss, Towns’ incredible display will be remembered as one of the most remarkable individual performances in recent NBA history.
