Kicked cat in Lecce: the video outrages the web – breaking latest news

Lecce, March 14, 2022 – The video shooting a man while taking a kicks a cat a Lecce: we are in the historic center of the Apulian capital. The residents denounced the episode, and they immediately recognized it Pierluigi, the neighborhood kitten: it belonged to no one and, therefore, to everyone. The kicks, launched without mercy, have it killed. “Pierluigi did not bother anyone, he was the classic neighborhood cat who made himself loved by anyone – tell the inhabitants of the area on social networks -. Whoever killed him was filmed by nearby cameras as well as by those in the center and will be punished “.

In the video – which we do not publish here because it contains strong images – we see a young man in causal clothes and a hat, with a beer in his hand, first chasing the cat under a car, then throwing himself on the poor animal without mercy. The kitten is also hit with a ball before succumbing to the man’s kicks.

Mayor Carlo Salvemini stigmatizes the episode: “Like everyone, I am impressed, indignant, disheartened by the violence of the video surveillance images that show the free, unmotivated, cruel killing of a cat in our historic center”, he writes in a post on Facebook. The police investigate the fact, now on the trail of the person responsible: a young man with a beer in his hand, in casual clothes. “Such brutal acts do not belong to the Lecce community that respects animals and the environment – adds the mayor – rich in an associative fabric that in collaboration with the Municipality and the Local Health Authority ensures assistance and care for free felines in the area”.
