(sda) Flawless in the shooting range with 20 shots, with a very strong running performance on the cross-country ski trail – Häcki-Gross showed the competition of her life on Friday in one of the biathlon strongholds. She celebrated her first World Cup victory in Antholz in South Tyrol.

Häcki-Gross had been in the top three in the World Cup twice so far, both times in pursuit races. In December four years ago she came third in Le Grand-Bornand in Hochsavoyen and six weeks ago in Hochfilzen in Tyrol second.

So far, only Selina Gasparin has been allowed to call herself the biathlon World Cup winner in Switzerland. The Graubünden woman, who resigned almost two years ago, triumphed twice within eight days a good ten years ago. Back then she won the sprints in Le Grand-Bornand and Hochfilzen.
