I renew Maignan, trouble breaks out at Milan
AC Milan’s French goalkeeper is not having an easy time. Against Frosinone he made a serious mistake on Mazzitelli’s goal and the extension issue also risks becoming more complicated.
As reported by Tuttosportthe former Lille goalkeeper has communicated to Milan his intention to renew the contract currently expiring in June 2026. However, Maignan wants to be compared in terms of importance in the squad to Rafael Leao and therefore asks a top player salary.
At the moment the ’95 class receives 2.8 million euros per season, bonuses included, and would have asked Giorgio Furlani a figure around 8 million euros, therefore even higher than the 7 received by the Portuguese winger born in 1999.
Maignan
The distance between the parties, at least in this initial phase of the negotiation, is wide. The Rossoneri have in fact presented Maignan’s entourage with a contract until 2028 of 5 million euros net per season plus bonuses, individual and team, with which to reach 6 million. It would therefore take about 2 to get to the desired white smoke.
The intention of the parties is to reach a solution by next summer: Milan are in no hurry to sell Maignan given that at the end of this season the goalkeeper will still have two years left on his contract but it is clear that without an agreement on the extension the idea of a transfer could also be taken into consideration.
The two clubs most interested in Maignan are PSG and Bayern Munich who had also knocked on Milan’s door last summer when Sandro Tonali was sacrificed on the transfer market.
The assessment made by the Rossoneri club is always the same: to take Maignan away from Milanello a check of around 100 million euros will be needed. The next few months will be decisive.
Sarri-Lazio, Lotito confirms him on the bench
Despite the difficult moment experienced by the Capitoline club, the president of Lazio, Claudio Lotito, wanted to confirm the coach on the bench.

Sarri has a contract with Lazio until 30 June 2025 worth 4 million euros net, bonuses included, and at the moment he has no intention of resigning nor does Lotito want to pay 10 million gross into the account of a sacked coach. The time to decide will come in June.
As reported by the well-known Roman newspaper, however, the rumors floating around Formello speak of a Sarri who is now tired of Lazio and eager for a change of scenery.
The greatest temptation is that of return to the Premier League after the positive experience at Chelsea (with whom he won the Europa League in the 2018-2019 season) or, remaining in Serie A, landing on the bench of Fiorentinathe team of his heart.
