Mario Vandenbogaerde and Ronny Huybrechts do not get past the sixteenth finals of Players Championship 4

The Belgian darts players did not score well at the Players Championship 4 in Leicester, England on Tuesday. Mario Vandenbogaerde (PDC-100) and Ronny Huybrechts (PDC-86) did the best with a place in the last 32. In his sixteenth final, “Super Mario” had to beat the Englishman Ryan Searle (PDC-20), winner of the Players Championship 3 on Monday, with a clear 6-1 score. Huybrechts lost 6-2 against the Northern Irishman Brendan Dolan (PDC-27).

Vandenbogaerde qualified for the sixteenth finals by beating the German Paul Krohne (PDC-95) 6-2 in the second round, Huybrechts won 6-3 against the Dutchman Berry van Peer (PDC-96). For Dimitri Van den Bergh (PDC-14) it ended in the second round with a 6-3 defeat against the Dutchman Wessel Nijman (PDC-100). At the same stage, Andy Baetens (PDC-94) lost 6-3 to ex-world champion Michael Smith (PDC-3). Kim Huybrechts (PDC-32), Mike De Decker (PDC-39) and Robbie Knops (PDC-89) did not get past the first round.

Australian Damon Heta (PDC-11) won the tournament by beating Englishman Chris Dobey (PDC-15) 8-4 in the final.
