Excellent result in a test of the Eca Junior cup. Even the Canavesans are now in Slovenia to compete in the World Youth Championships

After the races in Valstagna, the Eca Junior Cup circuit of canoe kayak slalom continued with a long weekend on the traditional Solkan race course in Slovenia, on the Soca / Isonzo a few kilometers from the border of New Gorica. On the first day of competitions, Saturday 26 June, Carolina Massarenti was fantastic and unexpected first place. Thanks to a regular and clean performance in the final, he won over opponents, on paper, certainly more accredited. The Ivrea canoa club standard bearer thus placed herself on the highest step of the podium in the women’s C1 Under 23. Massarenti’s gold was then followed by only important placings such as the fourth place of Tommaso Panico in the K1 Under 23 less than a second from the top step of the podium. Sesto Michele Pistoni in the hard-fought K1 Under 16 which saw 40 athletes in the final and Gabriele Marchegiano’s eighth place in the K1 Under 14 final.
The following day, Sunday 27, many penalties for the Ivrea athletes in the final tests, only Davide Ghisetti in the Under 23 men’s K1 and Carolina Massarenti in the Under 23 women’s C1 manage to grab the third place on the podium.
The group, after the two weekend tests in Flattach (Austria) of the weekend, will move to Tacen to take part in the next Junior and Under 23 World Championships. Other athletes from the Ivrea canoa club have joined the group, Matteo Pistoni and Simone Marchegiano. The world championships in Tacen in Slovenia from 9 to 11 July.
Meanwhile in Cassano d’Adda, Milan, in the combined regional race Classic Descent plus Descent Sprint silver won for the Ivrea Canoa Club athlete Stefano Minori in the Master +50 category. –
