Dutch Red Bull driver Max Verstappen won the Japanese Formula 1 Grand Prix. His teammate Sergio Perez, a Mexican, came second. Spaniard Carlos Sainz of Ferrari finished third. The Japanese Grand Prix was held in Suzuka and was characterized by an accident on the first lap, in which the cars of Alex Albon (Williams team) and Daniel Ricciardo (Racing Bulls) touched and Albon’s car went out track. There were no physical consequences for the two drivers, but the race was stopped and a second start was made.
