Rome, 2 September 2021 – “Mamma mia!” after 40 years the Abba. Is called “Voyage” and is the title of the new work, associated with a revolutionary concert, which will see Agnetha, Bjorn, Benny and Anni-Frid return to perform, the four of the Swedish pop band that made music history and made entire generations dance with globally successful songs like “Mamma mia!”. After their debut in 1974 with “Waterloo” Abba sold nearly 400 million albums around the world, they have had 17 hits at the top of the charts and count more than 16 million global streams per week: numbers that make the Swedish quartet one of the most successful bands of all time.

Today it was confirmed that Abba will return to perform digitally with one live band of 10 elements in a purpose built arena in London since May 27, 2022. The digital version of the pop quartet was created after weeks and months of filming with motion capture and technical performances with the four members of the band and a team of 850 members of Industrial Light & Magic, the company founded by George Lucas, on his first foray into music

After 40 years from the last studio album “The Visitors”, Abba have recorded two new songs “‘I Still Have Faith In You” and “Don’t Shut Me Down”, songs that will be part of the concert, but also have product a whole new album, “Voyage”, recorded together with Benny’s studio in Stockholm. An album that will be released worldwide next November 5 on Universal Music Group label.

Abba Voyage (Ansa)

While the “Abba Voyage” concerto will kick off on May 27, 2022 at the “Abba Arena”, a state-of-the-art arena from 3,000 seats built at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in London. It will be possible to pre-register to purchase tickets starting today on abbavoyage.com while tickets will go on sale from Tuesday 7 September.
