The 2023-2024 National Freestyle Skiing Aerials Championship began with an intense competition at Changchun Lianhuashan Ski Resort. Tonight’s news brings the exciting announcement that Beijing Winter Olympics champion Xu Mengtao claimed victory in the women’s open individual championship on the first day of competition.
This six-day event includes a variety of competitions such as individual and optional movements for open and youth groups, as well as elite and prescribed movements, double synchronization, and more. Athletes from various regions, including Anhui, Hebei, Heilongjiang, Jilin, and others, gathered to showcase their skills.
In the women’s open group individual competition, Xu Mengtao, a star from Liaoning, secured the championship with an impressive 95.18 points. Kong Fanyu from the Heilongjiang team and Shao Qi from the Inner Mongolia team claimed the second and third place, respectively. This victory marks Xu Mengtao’s second domestic competition championship, following her win at the National Freestyle Skiing Aerials Championship and the women’s individual championship in the 14th Winter Qualifying Tournament last month.
Meanwhile, in the men’s open individual competition, Sun Jiaxu from the Jilin team emerged victorious with 138.72 points. Zhang Yifan from Shaanxi and Wang Xindi from Liaoning clinched the second and third place, respectively.
