In mid-February, Saturday 17th to be precise, the running challenge created to promote the winter trail and enhance some of the most evocative locations in the Alps from Lombardy to Friuli Venezia Giulia will return to Prato Valentino. In view of the final in Tarvisio, this year also valid as the SkySnow World Championship, the Rhaetian ups and downs will be an excellent testing ground for athletes and amateurs.
GLOBAL GOAL: The 2024 claim will be #raodtotarvisio. Here, on the second weekend of March, a double world championship will be staged: the uphill-only world championship will take place on Friday 8 March on the Prampero del Monte Lussari track while the Classic specialty will be staged the following day on the beautiful Tarvisio Winter route Trail to Lake Superior of Fusine. The double Friulian event will be open: if only the athletes called up by the various national teams will be able to medal, amateurs and competitive athletes will be able to present themselves at the start and will be able to run for the race ranking.
APPOINTMENT FOR COMPETITORS AND AMATEURS: in Prato Valentino, as in past editions, the formula does not change. Alongside the 11km competitive test with a difference in altitude of 520 metres, which winds through the woods next to the ski slopes, there is a 4km non-competitive walk in memory of the young Tellino Simone Valli: a route which partly follows that of the race , but suitable for anyone, including families.
EVEN THE SMALLEST ON THE FIELD: to involve everyone, after last year’s happy debut, the Kids Run could not be missing. The little ones will be able to compete in a ring designed near the Chalet Baita del Sole, the starting and finishing point of all three competitions.
THE CHARM OF RUNNING WITH THE SUNSET LIGHTS: not even the departure time changes: the afternoon start will allow you to best enjoy the spectacle of the sunset that will set the sky on fire above the mountains that frame the Media Valle town. Although registrations have been open for just over a week, many athletes have already agreed to compete in the second stage of the circuit scheduled for February 17th and thus take advantage of the discounted rate valid until the end of the month.
