The men’s and women’s B1 series national championships do not stop. This is what the Volleyball Federation decided, which instead suspended its youth activity until Saturday 22 January. At the Piedmontese level all activity suspended (starting from Serie C). We will return to play only on Saturday 22 January, with the second return day.
In this case, the last round and the first round, respectively scheduled by the calendar this Saturday 8 and Saturday 15 January will be played later, with the date that will be communicated in the next few days.
This is the volleyball situation at the end of the national meeting held last Monday, January 3 in Rome, in which it was also established that, starting next Monday, January 10 and until the end of the health emergency (March 31), it will be mandatory also for the team group to be equipped with a reinforced Green pass (issued only with the administration of the first dose or, completion of the vaccination cycle or recovery, within six months, from Covid-19) and mandatory Ffp2 mask to access the gym. In fact, since last December 31st, these last rules were valid only for the public who wanted to attend the match.
Returning to the championship, the activity has not been suspended at the national level. However, an important criterion has been established: if there are at least three confirmed cases of positive players from a team, the match will be postponed.
Entering more specifically of the case, the Alto Canavese, in group A of men’s Serie B on Saturday 8 January, will be regularly on the pitch in Acqui Terme to face the ternals in the big match of the eleventh first leg, as explained by coach Fabio Matteotti: «At the moment – explains Matteotti – this is the situation, but let’s see how things are going day by day. On Saturday we will resume the season and on Wednesday 5 January we will do regular training, as we already did last Monday, 3 January. We will train as if we had to take the field on Saturday, which we all hope, but then the situation could change at any moment. The Federation has not suspended the activity », Matteotti still remembers. In the group of the Alto Canavese the matches are already certain of the postponement: Npsg La Spezia-Chieri and Zephyr La Spezia-Novi Ligure.
The situation is different for the Volpianese, in group A of B1, with coach Stefano Andreotti who on Saturday will not go to Legnano to face the Milanese in the eleventh round of the championship, as the match was postponed following the positivity of some members of Legnano .
Like Legnano-Volpianese, Acqui Terme-Parella Torino, Virtus Biella-Palau Sassari and Novate Milano-Trecate have already been postponed in the same group, as coach Andreotti explains: still positive cards at Covid-19, as he already had in the match against Palau before the Christmas holidays – comments Andreotti -. For our part, we did the swabs and they were all negative ». –
