Paris Olympic Organizing Committee Reveals Official Theme Song for Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games
Xinhua News Agency, Marseille, France, May 8 (Reporter Xiao Yazhuo) – The Paris Olympic Organizing Committee has officially unveiled the theme song for the upcoming Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Titled “Parade Ceremony,” the song is set to capture the essence of the dynamic and inclusive spirit of the games.
Renowned French composer Victor Le Massner, who composed the official theme song, expressed his honor in contributing to the Paris Olympics and Paralympics. He stated, “I hope that every audio track I create will not only accompany the unforgettable historical moments of the Olympics and Paralympics but also become an eternal part of everyone’s memory.”
Combining symphonic and electronic elements, the theme song encapsulates the values of sport and the ambitions of Paris 2024. Paris Olympic Organizing Committee President Toni Estanguet praised Le Massner for creating an exciting melody that reflects the upcoming months of activity.
The Olympic flame is set to arrive at the Old Port of Marseille on the evening of the 8th, kicking off its transmission throughout mainland France. The Marseille Symphony Orchestra will perform the theme song live at the Palais Faro, marking the official start of the day’s celebrations.
Throughout the Paris Olympic and Paralympic Games, the official theme song will be used at various events, with different adaptations for each occasion. The audio tape version of the song was recorded by the Orchester National de France and the French Radio Choir.
This collaboration is not the first between Le Massner and the Paris Olympic Organizing Committee. Previously, he rearranged “La Marseillaise” for the handover ceremony between Tokyo and Paris during the closing ceremony of the Tokyo Olympics.
Following its arrival in Marseille, the Olympic flame will embark on a cross-ocean relay in France and overseas on the 9th until the main cauldron is lit at the opening ceremony on July 26. The official theme song will play a pivotal role in setting the tone for this historical event.
