Pavia, superstaff for the Calzavacca nursery is the person in charge

After the good results of last season, the Azzurri strengthen the sector Dossena will be head of the coaches: Lentini, Volpe, Rovati and Zambianchi

Not only relaunching the First team in the Excellence championship, whose pawns of a renewed squad will be presented in the next few days, but also a work on young people resumed last season after the blue youth sector had been “reset” after relegation to Excellence (also due to the forced exile of the First team in Trezzano sul Naviglio).

General manager Antonio Dieni illustrated the composition of the staff that will lead the young blues in the next season 2022-23.

The first confirmation is that of Angelo Calzavacca who will be the head of the youth sector who will collaborate with all the other coordinators of the blue nursery.

«We are starting a second year for the Pavia youth sector, happy to have already done excellent things and ready to grow further – explains Angelo Calzavacca -. In a club where I made my debut in the professionals to which I am strongly attached. And we are also growing in the value we give to the youth sector with the inclusion of a technician who will lead our colleagues with a great preparation like Alexandro Dossena ».

Dossena, has a long experience in D (also at OltreVoghe) with different teams and worked in the First team at Pavia as assistant to Benny Carbone who also followed in B at Varese and then had an international experience also at the Partizani of Tirana (also here as deputy of Mark Iuliano). The manager of the youth sector coaches and the basic activity will be a figure who will have a direct dialogue with all the coaches of the blue youth sector.

“I am pleased to be back here in Pavia where I started coaching the Esordienti and they also become part of the staff of the First team and this sense of belonging to the blue colors starting with Angelo Calzavacca is another important factor for our nursery”, underlines Alex Dossena. Together with Calzavacca and Dossena, the technical managers of the basic activity and of the football school will be respectively Massimiliano Lentini and Francesco Volpe.

To complete the organization chart of the blue youth sector will be the organization manager (for both competitive and basic activities) Mario Rovati) and scouting manager Gionata Zambianchi. At the end of the first year of reconstruction of the Pavia nursery, among the most important competitive results, the promotion to the regional Under 17 and Under 16 championships of the respective teams of the years 2006 and 2007 (Pavia also has a regional B junior team linked to the First team) . Many new boys have already proposed to be part of the blue youth sector and the evaluation of 300 members is, for now, only an estimate because in addition to the competitive sector for the basic activity, growing numbers are expected also for the feeling that is increasing for the nursery. –
