Special Sunday for the Chignolese goalkeeper, Francesco Pizzoni. The 23-year-old number one of the team from Bassa Pavese who plays in Group I of the First category saved two penalties in 90 ‘and gave his team three heavy points in the race to safety thanks to a 1-0 victory over Lodi Vecchio.

«Since I have been playing football, there are now more than ten, it had never happened to me – says Pizzoni -. Opposing footballer (Mbaye El Hadji) has taken both penalties to my right. The first when we were already winning 1-0 in the first half final, at 36 ‘, was a low shot that I sensed by rejecting; the second was more important because LodiVecchio had him in the 91st minute and by transforming him he could equalize. Also in this case I decided to throw myself on the same side, this time their player tried to kick forcefully but I managed to neutralize the conclusion again ».

Brought up in the Sancolombano up to the age of 12, Pizzoni, who lives in Chignolo Po, played in the First category at the Senna Gloria and then returned home to be part of the Chignolese that dominated and won the Second category two seasons ago. He is a great AC Milan fan. “I tattooed on my arm the image of Dida who rejoices after the victory over Juventus in the 2003 Champions League final,” explains Pizzoni. Now the goal is salvation with his Chignolese: “After a difficult first round we are getting back on track with positive results”, underlines the penalty-keeper.
