VAL DI CHY
It’s called Walking football, the sport invented by the British and landed in Italy in 2010. And for some months it has been active in Alice Superiore, a hamlet of Val di Chy. The team was set up by the company Valchiusella 1999 which, after having dedicated itself to the promotion of football among children and therefore among young people, thought of the over 50s by inviting them to try their hand at this version of football in which, instead of running, you walk. Walking football is played between teams of 6 players on a five-a-side football pitch. Antonello Mabritto, president of Valchiusella 1999 explains: «In Valchiusella, given the many former soccer players present, we decided to involve them in this new adventure. The team, largely made up of over 60s, recently faced off against a similar team from Biella, figuring well beyond the 0-3 defeat ». The team trains twice a week on the fields of Alice Superiore and Rueglio. Anyone wishing to join can call 347-2403608. –
