On his return to the Puy de Dôme, Tadej Pogacar once again uses a mountain range made by his competitor Jonas Vingegaard. The Dane can at least limit his deficit and stays in the maillot jaune before the rest day.

Advantage Tadej Pogacar, but Jonas Vingegaard continues in the maillot jaune. This is how the 9th stage of the Tour de France ended in the imposing volcanic landscape of the Puy de Dôme. It was a worthy continuation of the previous acts after the battle tide had swung back and forth between Pogacar and Vingegaard during the first week of the Tour.
