PUMA and AC Milan present the 2023/24 Fourth Kit – Sport Marketing News

PUMA and AC Milan are proud to unveil the Rossoneri’s Fourth Kit for the 2023/24 season, created in collaboration with the innovative Los Angeles streetwear brand, PLEASURES. The new kit features two versions that blend the punk, metal and grunge influences of the Los Angeles streetwear brand with the beauty of Milan’s gothic architecture.

The collaboration between AC Milan and PLEASURES combines street-smart with match-ready: the kit is available in two contrasting colourways, symbolizing the transition from dusk to dawn (black and pristine), allowing fans to embody the spirit of AC Milan from day to night and on all continents, from Milan to Los Angeles.

With a nod to the ever-evolving Milanese lifestyle, the kit design represents the city’s most iconic moments of the day – sunset and sunrise and is encapsulated in the Fourth Kit campaign concept, “Out of the Shadows”. The colorways not only represent the different moments of the day in Milan, but are also connected to the global fanbase, embracing the Rossoneri lifestyle everywhere. Adding a further element of innovation, both versions of the Fourth Kit feature reflective logos, a first for AC Milan.

The iterations of the kit were revealed yesterday in Milan during an exclusive event in collaboration with Slam Jam, where AC Milan players, VIPs and media had the opportunity to see the shirts for the first time. At the same time, the kits were also revealed in Los Angeles through a guerrilla posting activity.

For the first time in the Club’s history, the two versions of the Fourth Kit will be used in separate matches. In the home match against Napoli on February 11th, the players will wear the black version, while the goalkeeper will show off the pristine version, creating a visual contrast on the pitch. In the away match against Monza, on February 18, this dynamic will be reversed. The ground-breaking design and innovative concept also extends to the Milan women’s team, who will proudly wear the Fourth Kit in the derby against Inter on 17 February.

Olivier Giroud, AC Milan striker and PUMA ambassador, commented on the new Fourth Kit: “I am thrilled to wear this beautiful kit on the pitch. It’s unlike anything I’ve seen before, with two versions that can be used by both the goalkeeper and the players. This demonstrates the creativity and innovation of PUMA, AC Milan and PLEASURES, who have created a kit with cutting-edge design and a striking concept that truly captures the essence of AC Milan’s legacy and ambition.”

Marco Mueller, PUMA Senior Head of Product Line Management Teamsport Apparel, said “Working on this kit allowed us to creatively combine AC Milan’s iconic street style with the distinctive touch of PLEASURES. We aimed for a design that resonated with both the atmosphere of Los Angeles and Milan and the history of AC Milan. The collaboration was an opportunity to push the boundaries of traditional kit design, ensuring each element is infused with the Club’s innovation, culture and global footprint.”

Maikel Oettle, Chief Commercial Officer of AC Milan, added: “This innovative kit, created by our partner PUMA in collaboration with PLEASURES, demonstrates PUMA and AC Milan’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of fashion and sport, offering fans a visually engaging experience that goes beyond the traditional confines of football apparel. The two iterations of the kit not only reflect the Club’s bold identity, but also unite our heritage and our future, fusing Gothic elements of our city’s architecture and monuments with an extremely innovative design, which includes elements that are revolutionary for us , such as reflective logos”.

“AC Milan is an iconic team worldwide. Growing up in an Italian-American neighborhood, AC Milan was the only team that mattered. This closes a circle in my life, because now my brand PLEASURES has the opportunity to collaborate with PUMA,” said Alex James, Co-Founder of PLEASURES.

The new Authentic jersey is equipped with cutting-edge technology that guarantees optimal performance and comfort on the pitch. Made with ULTRAWEAVE fabric, the kit boasts a structured, 4-way stretch design that reduces weight and friction, allowing players to move freely and comfortably. The dryCELL technology integrated into the fabric is designed to keep you dry.

The Replica version features DryCELL sweat-wicking technology to keep the player dry and comfortable for the full 90 minutes and beyond, regardless of the time, pitch or location. Both shirts are made from 100% recycled materials, excluding trims and decorations, as a step towards a better future.
