According to information from “Bild”, Ralf Rangnick is ready to move to FC Bayern. However, the Munich team has to negotiate with the Austrian Football Association in order to get rid of the coach. There are a few questions that need to be clarified.

Before the semi-final first leg of the Champions League against Real Madrid, FC Bayern Munich did not want to cause any unrest with the question of who will be coach Thomas Tuchel’s successor from the summer. But after the 2-2 draw against the Royals, the decision becomes serious. In fact, it could happen very quickly.

According to information from the “Bild” newspaper, Ralf Rangnick has told those responsible at FC Bayern that he is fundamentally willing to take over as the new coach of the record champions from the summer. The talks are to be intensified this Wednesday. Before that, however, Bayern and the 65-year-old have to clarify a few details.

Bayern have not yet reached an agreement with the Austrian association (ÖFB), where Rangnick is under contract as national coach until 2026. The Austrians are also fighting for Rangnick and want to keep him beyond the European Championships in the summer or only let him go in the event of a high transfer fee. In Munich, however, they are hoping for accommodation from the ÖFB, especially when it comes to severance pay.

According to information from “Bild”, it was the Munich sports director Christoph Freund who recommended and referred Rangnick to the Austrian association two years ago. Denying the coach permission would be seen as ungrateful in Munich. Especially since Rangnick agreed to make financial compromises in order to be involved with the Austrian national team.

Tuchel should earn ten million euros

Accordingly, the national coach, like his predecessors, should not be able to earn more than 1.5 million euros. At FC Bayern, however, Tuchel is expected to collect more than an estimated ten million euros. The association would also have to release members of its coaching staff, such as assistant Lars Kornetka, who worked as a video analyst for FC Bayern in the 2013/14 season, because his coaching team is very important to Rangnick.

Despite the difficult circumstances, Rangnick’s positive signal makes Bayern very optimistic that they will be able to announce their new coach soon.
