In 700 in Casteggio for the last act of the Piedmont Cup. Aime and Calvi won the two women’s courses

The Granfondo di Casteggio closed the 21st edition of the Piedmont Cup, a circuit of five events for cyclists, under the direction of Renato Angioi. In the long route (121 kilometers with a total altitude difference of 2,100 meters) the success went to the former professional Daniele Ratto (2R Bike Store), from Turin who in 2013 also won a stage of the Giro di Spagna, while in the short one (77 km with a difference in height of 1,150 meters) was established by Alberto Merli from Pavia (Pedale Godiaschese). In the women’s field, affirmations for Lisa Aime from Cuneo (Gs Passatore) and for Eleonora Calvi Di Coenzo (Rodman Azimut) from Emilia. An initially pleasant temperature welcomed the almost 700 members who lined up in the starting grids prepared in front of the Casteggiano sports center. The two paths divided at the Molato dam, in the upper Tidone valley: the long one continued on the Piacentino hills. At the end the traditional pasta party for all the participants and a fresh watermelon after the long effort on the ups and downs of the hills.
