Antwerp –

Good news for Roby Rogiers. The center of Telenet Giants Antwerp is ready to play again after a hand injury and will make his comeback on Saturday when he visits ZZ Leiden.

Roby Rogiers played his last game on February 14 in the regional derby won by Telenet Giants Antwerp against Kangaroos Mechelen. The center suffered a hand injury (left) and was sidelined for more than eight weeks. That was a shame at the time for the 26-year-old and 2m06 tall Antwerp center who was having a strong campaign with an average of 8.4 points and 4 rebounds. After more than two months he can plan his return.

Fully fit core

“A new scan gave Roby the green light. He joined the group training again on Monday. If there is no response, he can make his comeback on Saturday against the Dutch ZZ Leiden. Just before the start of the play-offs, he can normally regain some match rhythm in the four remaining matches of Elite Gold,” said Koen Embrechts of the Giants’ medical staff.

For the first time in more than two months, the Sinjoren could once again have a fully fit selection. The seventh matchday brings Telenet Giants Antwerp the top match on Saturday at Dutch champion ZZ Leiden. They are in a shared second place in the Elite Gold of the BNXT League with the Giants and Heroes Den Bosch.
