Ryanair, confirmed the strike of 17 July for pilots and flight attendants

Rome, 11 July 2022 – Confirmed Ryanair flight strike for Sunday July 17. This was announced by the national secretary of FILT CGIL, Fabrizio Cuscitoafter the meeting at Mims on problems of air transport in the last few weeks.

“To date – is the communication released in the late morning by Cuscito -, in the absence of concrete initiatives in the direction of improvement of working conditions and wage adjustment, remains confirmed, Sunday 17, lo strike by pilots and assistants on Ryanair volo”.

“We have asked the Ministry of Infrastructure and Sustainable Mobility to convene a comparison with low cost airlines – adds the national secretary of Filt – to verify compliance with the application of article 203 of the Relaunch Decree on the application of the minimum wages envisaged by the national air transport contract “.

” Even in Italy the situation at airports is for now less serious than in the rest of Europe – continues the national manager of Filt – we have expressed our concern about how it will evolve given that in Italy the resumption of activity in the sector was later than in the rest of Europe. In our country in air transport there is certainly the issue of the lack of manpower, linked to low wages throughout the airport grounds. In the face of this, high-level professionals, such as pilots and technicians, emigrate while the other professional profiles have discovered that there are better paid realities outside the airports, for this reason it is necessary renew national contracts, so as to start an upward review of contracts, adjusting them to European averages much higher than ours ”.

” For our part, we pointed out to the Ministry – explains Cuscito – that we are trying to act where possible, to safeguard the work and operations of the sector as with the agreement with Swissport for former Alitalia employees at Fiumicino airportbut it is certainly serious that the Government has not been there since Pnrrno investment in a sector heavily affected by the pandemic ”.
