FC Bayern Munich has to mourn the next injured professional. New signing Sacha Boey from Galatasaray Istanbul suffered a large fiber tear in his left back thigh, according to the club’s statement on Friday. This means that the full-back will be out “in the coming weeks”, which also includes the second leg of the round of 16 in the Champions League against Lazio on March 5th.
Sacha Boey was actually supposed to be a replacement for right-backs Konrad Laimer (torn calf muscle), Bouna Sarr (torn cruciate ligament) and Noussair Mazraoui (most recently at the Africa Cup of Nations) as well as left-back Alphonso Davies (interior ligament strain). The Munich team had the transfer cost around 30 million euros.

After a solid debut in the 3-1 win as a substitute against Borussia Mönchengladbach, he was a disappointing starter in the 3-0 loss in Leverkusen.
Bochum relies on home strength
However, according to coach Thomas Letsch, FC Bayern’s major personnel problems and form crisis do not make the task any easier for the Bochum team. “You are the big favorite. For us, it’s not an issue whether FC Bayern is perhaps a little more vulnerable than usual at the moment,” said the Revier club’s football teacher before the home game against the second-placed team. Nevertheless, he does not see his team without a chance: “We believe in ourselves, we are confident in ourselves. On a good day we can annoy any team. But to do this we have to be present from the start, play aggressively and courageously.”
