Seized 640 thousand euros from Pietro Lo Monaco: he did not pay VAT on behalf of Catania

The Guardia di Finanza of Catania, as part of an investigation coordinated by the Etna prosecutor, seized on the order of the investigating judge of the Court, 640 thousand euros from Pietro Lo Monaco, under investigation as the legal representative of Catania football and accused of failure to pay VAT with reference to the year 2018.

The investigations originated from a report of last March 13 from the Provincial Directorate of the Revenue Agency. The subsequent investigations made it possible to ascertain that Lo Monaco, at the time of the facts the legal representative of Calcio Catania, failed to pay, on behalf of the sports club, the tax for the year 2018 for an amount of 640 thousand euros. Following the financial investigations carried out on the current accounts of Calcio Catania and of Lo Monaco himself, the sum corresponding to the profit of the crime subjected to preventive seizure with a provision of the Gip of Catania was thus identified.
