Xinhua News Agency, Chongqing, September 13 (Reporter Wu Kunpeng) The Chongqing Sports Delegation of the 14th National Games announced on the 13th that due to a severe psoas muscle strain, Shi Tingmao, the women’s three-meter springboard double champion at the Tokyo Olympics, withdrew from the National Games diving women Three-meter single event competition.

According to reports, Shi Tingmao’s injury was directly caused by an action error when he completed the fourth jump 305B in the women’s three-meter springboard doubles final on September 10. After the game, Shi Tingmao’s waist pain worsened, and the team doctors who accompanied him treated him many times, but his injury still did not improve.

At the Tokyo Olympics a month ago, Shi Tingmao won the women’s three-meter springboard singles and doubles champions. After the Olympics, Shi Tingmao returned to China and immediately put into high-intensity recovery training after the expiration of the isolation period to prepare for the National Games. Due to excessive physical consumption, the injury caused her old lumbar injury to relapse, and it was difficult to recover in a short time and complete the follow-up competition. After communication with multiple parties, she decided to withdraw from the women’s three-meter single event competition in the National Games.

Shi Tingmao, born in 1991, has won four Asian Games champions, six World Cup champions, seven World Championships champions, and four Olympic gold medals. He has been named the “Best Diving Athlete of the Year” by the FINA for five consecutive years.
