It’s over between the number 10 of the Atp world Jannik Sinner and his historic coach Riccardo Piatti: now there is also official status. A little cold, beyond the cordial tones, but in cases of such traumatic breakups it is probably inevitable. “Riccardo Piatti and Jannik Sinner jointly announce the end of their collaboration”, reads the press release from StarWing, the management company that represents the blue tennis player. “During these years Riccardo and Jannik have achieved many successes and these experiences and results will accompany them both”. Jannik Sinner moved to the Riccardo Piatti Tennis Center over seven years ago, when he was 13, on the recommendation of Massimo Sartori, and his extraordinary ascent began from the Bordighera courts which in just over three years brought him from number 700 to number 10 in the world ranking, as well as the victory of 4 ATP tournaments and the final of the Masters 1000 in Miami. «Riccardo and his team taught me a lot as a player – writes Sinner – and this will always remain part of my tennis. I want to thank them for their commitment and the guidance they have provided me over the years ». For his part, Piatti declares himself «grateful for having had the opportunity to train a talent like Jannik’s and proud of what we have achieved together. I wish Jannik the best for the continuation of his career ».
Sinner has been training for a few days in Beausoleil, on the French Riviera, with Simone Vagnozzi, the former coach of Marco Cecchinato and Stefano Travaglia, and should announce soon, perhaps tomorrow, his new team, of which he should also be an important part. ex n.2 of the world Magnus Norman.
