Stadiums and sports halls, capacity at 50 and 35%. Access to the changing rooms only with the Green pass

At the PalaRavizza up to 940 seats, at the PalaBasletta 420. From 10 January it is difficult to train for those who are not vaccinated

PAVIA. The Draghi government’s tightening against the spread of the Omicron variant also affects the world of sport closely. One of the main innovations concerns the reduction of capacity in the facilities: it goes from 75% to 50% in stadiums and outdoor facilities, from 60% to 35% in indoor arenas and facilities. Given the gravity of the situation and the exponential increase in infections, the measure is in fact already in force. The other rule, which will be applied from 10 January 2022, is the obligation of the Green pass to access swimming pools, gyms and changing rooms: therefore it also affects outdoor team sports.

In stadiums and sports halls, seats must be arranged in a checkerboard pattern, to ensure the maximum possible spacing. In addition, fans must have the Green pass strengthened (at least two doses or proven cure from Covid) and wear the Ffp2 mask for the entire duration of the match: these two measures had already been decided with the decree of 24 December. The Pietro Fortunati stadium in Pavia, home to the Azzurri matches, will be able to accommodate up to a maximum of 2 thousand spectators: the central grandstand, the South curve for the ultras and possibly the North will remain open in the event of the presence of visiting fans. Same capacity of 2 thousand seats for the Giovanni Parisi stadium in Voghera. Finally, the Chiappano di Varzi will be able to host a maximum of 99 supporters, as has been the case since the beginning of the season.

Moving on to the indoor facilities, the PalaRavizza in Pavia will be able to hold up to 940 spectators. The facility in via Treves, among the numerous teams, hosts the matches of the Riso Scotti Punto Edile men’s basketball series, as well as the challenges of the 2001 Garlasco Volleyball of the men’s A3 volleyball series. The PalaBasletta of Vigevano, the home of Elachem, sees its capacity drop to 420 seats. The PalaBrera di Broni, home to the matches of the Italian women’s A1 Constructions, will be able to accommodate a maximum of 170 spectators. While the other important indoor facility in our province, the PalaOltrepo in Voghera, home to the A2 series women’s basketball Autosped Castelnuovo Scrivia and the C Silver series Olympia Voghera, will host a maximum of 540 fans.

The other novelty will start after the Christmas holidays: from 10 January the Green pass will be mandatory to access the gyms, swimming pools and also the changing rooms and showers of the facilities. The provision therefore concerns not only indoor sports, such as basketball, volleyball or swimming, which in winter is practiced indoors, but also football or outdoor team sports, because in any case you have to access the changing rooms to change. In short, this means that athletes without the green certificate of vaccination will no longer be able to enter sports facilities, therefore train and prepare for championship matches. On the contrary, for those who practice an outdoor sport and do not use “closed” structures, the basic Green pass will suffice. –
