Every year during the Super Bowl, the final of the American football championship, several very expensive commercials are broadcast in which actors, singers and other entertainment personalities star. The Super Bowl is the most coveted event for advertisers, who try to grab advertising space: many of the most remembered advertisements in history – often also circulated in Italy – were created on the occasion of a Super Bowl, like the one directed by Ridley Scott for Apple in 1984.

Historically, advertising spaces for the evening are purchased mainly by companies and brands that want to reach a male audience and sports enthusiasts, but this year there were more than usual explicitly aimed at a female audience, such as those of the elf beauty brands Cosmetics (in which the cast of Suitsthe most streamed US series last year in the United States), Nyx Professional Makeup and Dove.

The change has been explained by many by the fact that, in recent months, the games of the National Football League (NFL, the main American football league) have also begun to be followed by many women and girls who are passionate about the singer Taylor Swift, who since last September she has regularly shown up at various Kansas City Chiefs games, the team for which Travis Kelce, her new partner, plays.
