Samsung announced at the Galaxy Unpacked 2024 event a new addition to its wearable ecosystem: the Samsung Galaxy Ring. This innovative device marks Samsung’s entry into the growing market for connected health rings, a field hitherto dominated by brands like Oura and Ultrahuman.
The Samsung Galaxy Ring is the result of almost nine years of development, with the first steps started in 2015. The Galaxy Ring was officially unveiled at the Galaxy Unpacked 2024 event, showing off a design that includes a shiny ceramic or metal construction and four magnetic contact points on the inner side of the band. Samsung announced that the Galaxy Ring will be integrated into the Samsung Health app, allowing users to monitor their health and well-being more intuitively and discreetly. Among the features, the possibility of monitoring the symptoms of sleep apnea, a rather common sleep disorder, stands out.
With the Galaxy Ring, Samsung enters a market that has already seen the introduction of similar products by other companies. However, based on market trends and competition, the price of the Galaxy Ring is expected to vary between 250 and 350 euros. It is possible that Samsung will launch the Galaxy Ring by the end of 2024 or early 2025.
