The president Filippo Fabbro hopes to start again from the Excellence
MANZANO. There are hours of waiting in the house of the Manzanese. Clubs, cities and fans will have to wait another 24 hours to know the fate of the team.
The Governing Council of the Lnd Regional Committee will meet on Tuesday 7 September to examine the application for admission to the championship of Excellence submitted by the orange club following its decision to renounce the D series.
As specified by a press release from the regional committee, “the decision on whether or not to accept the application for participation in the championship of excellence will be taken exclusively following the federal regulations governing the matter and cases such as this”.
There is a negative precedent that does not favor Manzanese. In 2016 Ufm Monfalcone had obtained salvation in Serie D, but then decided not to register for the championship, asking to register for Excellence.
Instead the decision taken was negative for the company of the yards which was forced to start again from the Third category. The Manzanese can instead hope to be registered at the Excellence if you look at the example of the Piacenza team of Vigor Carpaneto.
This formation on the eve of the 2020-21 season, in the middle of the Covid era, had renounced the D series and had been admitted to the championship of Excellence.
For the Manzanese, the alternative in case of failure to register with the Excellence is the Second category, since the Third has been abolished.
The company’s decision to give up the D series was sudden and surprised everyone. The team had strengthened with the arrival of 12 players, a new manager and the ambitions of another top league after the brilliant third place last season.
On September 1, however, the unexpected statement of the company with the decision to renounce the D series. There was also a confrontation in the locker room, on August 31, between the president Filippo Fabbro, the players and the coach.
The company then motivated the decision with the desire to organize the activity in a different way. The opinions on the step backwards are divided by supporters and local sports enthusiasts.
Some say that the decision was right, while others say that it had to be taken earlier, because now times are very tight and on 19 September, Excellence or Second category for the Manzanese, the amateur championships will start. –
