A delegation of more than 100 Chinese men’s football team and China U23 men’s football team left Haikou on a chartered flight of Hainan Airlines that took off on March 17 and flew to Dubai, United Arab Emirates, to participate in the final two rounds of the Qatar World Preliminary Asian Top 12 Dubai Cup” International Football Invitational Tournament. After more than 7 hours of flight, the flight carrying the two national teams is expected to arrive in Dubai on the 17th local time, and then the two teams will go straight from Dubai International Airport to the residence of the Four Points by Sheraton Sharjah.
The national football team has learned that compared with the expedition in November last year, the UAE’s epidemic prevention policy has been adjusted. Before entering the UAE, personnel only need to show their vaccination records, do not need to undergo nucleic acid testing, or even wear masks. However, in order to ensure the health and safety of the members of the two national teams, the Chinese Football Association still requires all members to accept closed-loop epidemic prevention management while they are abroad.
It is precisely because the national football team has traveled to the United Arab Emirates for many times in the past year or so, so the entire team is familiar with the local climatic conditions, training, competition, and life processes or environments.
It is reported that it only takes about an hour to drive from Dubai to the Four Points by Sheraton Sharjah, where the national football team is stationed. Therefore, even if there is a 4-hour time difference between China and Afghanistan, the trip will not bring too much trouble to the team. After arriving at the resident hotel, the internationals can have dinner directly, and then rest and adjust to prepare for the next training and competition.
In order to ensure the health and safety of the two national team members, the Chinese Football Association requires all members to accept closed-loop epidemic prevention management. Although the hotel that received the team also received some other ordinary guests, the hotel had previously reserved the living areas of the two teams as required by the Chinese Football Association. The two national teams will go in and out of the hotel through separate channels.
Like the previous times when the national football team was stationed, the Four Points by Sheraton Hotel once again reduced the number of hotel service employees to meet the needs of the Chinese team’s delegation to prevent the epidemic. In order to reduce the contact between team members and external personnel, some room service will be done by team personnel.
According to the plan, the Chinese team will conduct its first training after arriving in Sharjah on the afternoon of March 18, local time. Jiang Guangtai, a naturalized player who has been in Dubai before, will also join the team as soon as possible and participate in the team’s joint training. Li Lei, who plays for the Swiss Grasshoppers, will go to the United Arab Emirates on the 21st local time after participating in the Swiss Super League match against Basel on the 20th local time on behalf of the club team.
