Inzaghi-Inter, the cycle continues: yet another trophy of his management
Simone Inzaghi’s Inter have no intention of stopping. The exit from the Italian Cup in the round of 16 at the hands of Bologna and which occurred last December had loaded the edition of the Italian Super Cup with many expectations, the first with the four-team format. The coach from Piacenza and his team landed in Saudi Arabia with the clear intention of returning to Milan with the cup and last night they completed the mission by beating Napoli in the final after having roughed up Lazio in the semi-final.
The match was decided by a goal from Lautaro Martinez in the 91st minute of the second half following an assist from Pavard from the right. The Italian Super Cup won it is the eighth in the history of the Nerazzurri club (overtaking AC Milan with 7 points and only one distance from Juve, first with 9), the fifth in Simone Inzaghi’s coaching career (he won the other two with Lazio) and the third in a row, a record now shared with Capello’s Milan.
In particular, with this success, Inter secures another important objective: to continue to win at least one trophy a year, an eventuality that has now been happening since the 2020-2021 season when the Nerazzurri won the Scudetto with Conte after 10 years without any trophy.
In 2021-2022 and 2022-2023 the Supercoppa Italiana-Coppa Italia double, this year, awaiting the final verdicts in the championship and Champions League, yet another Supercup. Inter’s is therefore a real cycle that shows no signs of stopping.

Clearly in the judgment on Inzaghi, despite last year’s Champions League finalthe stain of the 2021-2022 scudetto weighs heavily, lost against a Milan that was decidedly inferior on paper.
