Opening Ceremony of 2024 Paris Olympics to Welcome 320,000 Spectators
China News Service, Paris, March 5 (Reporter Li Yang) – French officials announced on March 5th that approximately 320,000 spectators holding tickets will be attending the opening ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. The French Interior Minister, Darmanin, also disclosed some security details regarding the highly anticipated event.
Of the 320,000 ticket-holding spectators, 100,000 entered by purchasing tickets, while the remaining 220,000 obtained free tickets. Additionally, around 200,000 people will have the opportunity to watch the opening ceremony from various buildings and locations around the Seine River.
The Paris Olympic Organizing Committee had previously revealed that the opening ceremony will be held along the Seine River, welcoming tens of thousands of athletes arriving on boats. Despite the slightly smaller audience size than anticipated, the unique Seine plan for the opening ceremony promises to be a truly unprecedented event.
Security officials also shared details about the event, stating that a total of 180 boats will participate in the ceremony, with 94 carrying the athletes. The journey for the athletes will start at the Austerlitz Bridge and conclude near the Jena Bridge, passing by iconic landmarks such as the Notre Dame Cathedral and the Louvre.
In terms of security measures, a 150-kilometer radius around Paris will have its airspace closed from 7:00 to midnight on the night of the opening ceremony, affecting operations at various airports in the vicinity. Despite these precautions, Darmanin assured the public that, as of now, there are no specific terrorist threats to the Paris Olympics.
As excitement continues to build for the upcoming 2024 Paris Olympics, the opening ceremony promises to be a spectacular event that will showcase the beauty and grandeur of the Seine River and its surroundings.
