The road to the Thomas and Uber Cup just got a little clearer for the national badminton teams, as the group stage draw was revealed yesterday. The 2024 World Badminton Men’s and Women’s Team Championships will be held in Chengdu from April 27 to May 5, and the Chinese teams now know who they will be facing in the group stage.

In the men’s team event, the Chinese team has been placed in a group with South Korea, Canada, and Australia. Meanwhile, in the women’s team event, they will be competing against the Indian team, Canadian team, and Singapore team.

The Chinese team will be looking to redeem themselves after falling short in the previous Thomas and Uber Cup in Bangkok two years ago. Despite missing the semi-finals in the men’s team event and settling for silver in the women’s team event, the Chinese team is determined to come out on top this time around.

The Indian men’s team made history by winning the Thomas Cup for the first time, while the South Korean women’s team upset the Chinese team to take home the Uber Cup. With this year’s tournament being held on home soil, the Chinese team has set their sights on reclaiming both the Thomas Cup and Uber Cup.

As the top seed in both events and as the host nation, the Chinese team will be looking to make a statement in front of their home fans. The final 16 participating teams will be confirmed in March, and anticipation is already building for what promises to be an exciting and competitive tournament.
