The champion was a guest at the MVC store. “I come from Anterselva, the country where everyone tries this sport”

SEREN DEL GRAPPA

The bronze medal as an heirloom to always carry with you. The pleasure of being able to involve and make the public who loves cheering and applauding them from home feel at ease during competitions, whether they are World Cups, World Championships or Olympics.

A moment of the evening

Here is Dorothea Wierer, guest of the new MVC Store in Seren del Grappa, by Manifattura Valcismon. Perhaps the only regret for the good number of those present is the slowdown that she herself gave in key participation in the 2026 Games. Those of Milan – Cortina to be clear, where the biathlon will find its home in Anterselva. She will be almost 36 years old at that time and Dorothea’s words suggest how the future can be more directed to her desire to start a family, while not closing any doors. It therefore seems more difficult to hypothesize to see her again in an Olympics, a competition that brought her three bronzes in Sochi 2014, Pyeongchang 2018 and Beijing 2022.

He told about it during the event held at the Sportful home. The queen of biathlon and brand ambassador of the Cremonese family spoke about her career and her future, interviewed by Giovanni Viel.

A half hour of chat, followed by the meeting with the public between autographs and customary selfies, including those with the local teams of Enal Sport Villaga and Polisportiva Sovramonte, to name a couple. Beautiful emotions for the many Belluno fans of Wierer, who joined the Italian national team in 2007 when she was not yet of age and whose current record speaks of three Olympic bronzes, 10 world medals and 6 World Cup trophies, for a total of 54 podiums overall. There was also a reference to the cross-country ski clothing line developed with the Feltre company and signed “Doro Style”.

“I feel a little old now. I come from Anterselva, where all children try biathlon. I couldn’t be outdone, since my brothers also practiced it. In reality, I never imagined being able to make a career like this, even though there was no lack of results from an early age. I thought of stopping especially close to the transition from junior to senior, when I had other interests unrelated to sport. Fortunately, however, I decided to continue and it was the best decision ». Thanks, she says, to “determination and motivation, thanks to which you are pushed to do better and better”.

The Beijing bronze seems to have archived its Olympic path. «By the way, it’s worth as much as a gold, given the difficult conditions in which the race took place. Indeed, I indicate it among the three most satisfactory results obtained so far, together with the first success in the Östersund world cup and the home world championship in Anterselva ».

Milan – Cortina appears to be a distant goal. «You have to be realistic, beyond the beauty of having the five-circle event in your own home. Four years is a long time in the life of an athlete, the number of girls ready to go to the podium increases. In the meantime I’m building a house and, why not, I also think about motherhood. Always having a suitcase ready is not easy. We will see”.

At the end of the chat, here is the thanks from Alessio Cremonese of Sportful. «The collaboration with Dorothea is a source of great satisfaction. There is a lot of work behind the creation of the “Doro Style” clothing, but we like that you combine the sporty aspect with a great attention to fashion and style that you also bring to the race ».
