In the next few days the guidelines of the Minister of Health Roberto Speranza and the operational methods of administration of the third dose for the elderly over 80 years old, the guests of assisted health residences and, to follow, the health workers but only for those at greater risk: the decision on the enlargement to include the rest of the staff has been postponed. On the agenda for Monday then there are the decisions on reducing the quarantine in schools (only to the desk mate in case of positive) and on increasing the capacity for events and shows (stadiums, concerts, cinemas and theaters).
After about 3 million immunocompromised, we will therefore also start with over 80, patients hospitalized in Rsa and health workers most at risk. The CTS has instead the decision was postponed whether or not to extend the third dose to all the rest of the healthcare personnel: a choice motivated, according to what we learn, by the fact that there would be no urgency and that they are not fragile subjects.
Now the scientists will meet again on Monday, although they have until September 30 to express an opinion “on the distancing measures, capacity and protection in the places where cultural, sporting, social and recreational activities take place “in view” of the adoption of subsequent regulatory measures “, as written in article 8 of the decree that introduced the green pass in all workplaces. The government has not yet prepared a complete text, just waiting for the technical opinion. Draghi should convene the ministers on these aspects on first October but on the table of experts there is already the request of the Minister of Culture Dario Franceschini to overcome the current limits and bring the 100% capacity, maintaining the obligation of the pass and to wear the mask. The Regions are also on this line, with the president of the Conference Massimiliano Fedriga who asked to increase the capacity to 80% by October and then arrive, “in a short period of time”, to 100%. The orientation of the CTS would be that of lighten the measures, albeit gradually and authorizing different capacities depending on the contexts. Then there is the discos node, with Lega and Forza Italia pressing for a reopening. On this the positions among the experts are different but many reiterate that these are the places where the risk of contagion is highest.
Another issue that will have to be addressed is that of quarantines in the school, even if at the moment no request has arrived at the CTS. Today there is no univocal rule: for example, in the case of positivity, there are those who quarantine the whole class (Tuscany), those who isolate only close contacts, that is, the neighbors at the counter (Emilia Romagna) and those who only positive (Veneto). In most cases, the whole class is quarantined but with a further differentiation: 7 days for the vaccinated and 10 for the unvaccinated, which the privacy guarantor does not like at all. Finally, there is the theme of refinancing for workers’ quarantine who have had contact with an infected person. It will be equated to the disease also for 2021, confirmed the president of the INPS Pasquale Tridico, and financed with about 900 million.
