Trivero-Bielmonte, the first edition between big and curiosity

by admin

The setting of the Oasi Zegna will be the scene today of a new running event organized by Claudio Piana (Biella Sport Promotion) in collaboration with the Oasi Zegna and the Biellesi Alps Tourism Consortium. The thirteen-kilometer route hides several pitfalls. The 724 meters of difference in height between the departure, set at 4 pm at the Centro Zegna in Trivero (now Valdilana) and the arrival in Bielmonte, have some pretty steep ramps and some slightly flat sections. A race that is anything but easy, which will reward the participants with a unique panoramic track. At the moment there are about a hundred registered for the first edition of the Trivero-Bielmonte. Last minute registrations will reopen today from 2pm to 3.30pm. Only athletes registered with FIDAL or Runcard holders will be able to register: the current anti-Covid rules do not allow the participation of non-members, since it is a national Bronze label competition. Pending any last minute arrivals, the test includes some high-level athletes in the starting list.

Among the favorites among the women there is Sarah Aimée L’Epée (Atl. Settimese) from Turin, fresh winner of the 2 Santuari Run from Graglia to Oropa. He will meet Valentina Dameno, an athlete born in 1994, fresh from the victory in the Monza Park half marathon and already seen several times on the Biella roads. Attention also to Michelle Gnoato from Gattina, recently third in the Trail of the 8 pillars in Prato Sesia and winner of the Brutail Trail 13K in Gattinara. Among the men there will be three top level athletes: favorite number 1 is Kenyan Julius Kariba Njeri, twenty-three year old winner of the Running Day in Saronno in Lombardy on Sunday (a 10 km road closed in 30’29 “). But beware of two Lombard often present in the race in the Biella area: Giuseppe Molteni, winner in 2016 at Biella-Oropa (Atl. Desio) and several times later placed on the podium, third last October last time; and Andrea Astolfi (Cus Pro Patria), in turn second last October in Biella-Oropa and fourth in the Saronno race.
