The Chinese U20 Women’s Soccer Team missed the knockout rounds of the Asian Cup after defeating Vietnam 6-1

In a thrilling group stage match in the 2024 Uzbekistan U20 Women’s Asian Cup, the Chinese team secured a 6-1 victory over Vietnam. Despite the impressive win, the Chinese team ultimately finished third in the group, missing out on the knockout rounds and failing to qualify for the 2024 Colombia U20 Women’s World Cup.

The Chinese team dominated the match against Vietnam, with Yu Jiaqi, Lu Jiayu, Xia Lejiao, and Huo Yuexin scoring goals. The Vietnamese team managed to score their only goal of the tournament in the 74th minute.

Despite the win, the Chinese team’s record of 1 win, 1 draw, and 1 loss was not enough to secure a spot in the knockout rounds. North Korea claimed the top spot in the group with 2 wins and 1 draw, while Japan finished second with 2 wins and 1 loss.

Out of the eight teams in the tournament, North Korea, Japan, Australia, and South Korea advanced to the knockout rounds and secured a spot in the 2024 Colombian U20 Women’s World Cup.

The Chinese team may have missed out on the knockout rounds this time, but they have shown great potential and determination on the field. Fans can look forward to seeing the team bounce back and compete in future tournaments.
