UDINE. Absolute debut at San Siro on Saturday of August, then another advance at the Friuli stadium the following week, against Salernitana, then even a Friday a stone’s throw from Villa San Martino, to visit Berlusconi’s Monza.
If a good day starts in the morning, we can say that Udinese will immediately understand that the next championship will be nothing short of anomalous between “stew” and “super-anticipations” which – to allow the insertion of the world break and satisfy the TV – will mark the rhythm of the season for the Juventus fans.
Thursday 30 June, at the end of the Lega Serie A assembly, the days and times of the first five rounds of the next championship were announced, in practice only until 5 September, considering that in the first months there will be a very high “density” of appointments to allow the teams to switch off in mid-November and return to the scene at the beginning of January, but a necessary break to allow foreign players – alas, the Azzurri will stay at home – to participate in Qatar 2022.
As mentioned, from the first day the syncopated rhythms of the next Serie A will be understood. Udinese at 18.30 on Saturday 13 August will open the season at San Siro against the Italian champions Milan, in the framework of a day spread over the arc more than 74 hours, considering that it will close on Monday 15, at 20.45, at the Turin Stadium with Juventus-Sassuolo.
In a nutshell, four matches on Saturday (Sampdoria-Atalanta simultaneously with the match at San Siro, Monza-Turin and Lecce-Inter at 20.45), as many on Sunday (Fiorentina-Cremonese and Lazio-Bologna at 18.30, Spezia-Empoli and Salernitana-Rome at 20.45) and two Mondays (Verona-Naples at 18.30 before the Juve match).
A pattern that will be repeated also in the following week, when Udinese will play their match again at 18.30 on Saturday, this time against Salernitana in their seasonal debut at the Friuli stadium.
The next time, for the third day, there is even an “over-advance”: on Friday 26th the bianconeri will be in Monza at 18.30, simultaneously with what can be considered the first big match of the season, Lazio-Inter.
This is because it will not be possible to go beyond Monday, thanks to the program of the fourth round of the championship, the first midweek, which for Udinese is set for Wednesday 31st against Fiorentina in the Sottil derby: father Andrea, Juventus coach, against his son Riccardo , purple player. It will be played in Friuli and, incredibly, always at 18.30.
To change the schedule, Udinese will have to wait until matchday five, when they will play on Sunday, September 4th, but not in the afternoon. In fact, he will be the protagonist of the evening postponement together with Roma, under the Rizzi arch for the second of two home commitments in a row.
