Director Riceputi: “We understand the situation, it is not easy to make decisions But it is also difficult to plan preparation for the championship”

VOGHERA

On Monday 27 December, Vogherese resumed training after the Christmas break. The Rossoneri’s program includes daily sessions at the Grassi Pontecurone field until Thursday 30 December, when Massimo Giacomotti’s team will train in the morning.

Then two days of rest, Friday 31 December and Saturday 1 January, and the return to work on Sunday 2, with training in the morning and a possible friendly match in the afternoon. The Rossoneri club is considering a review of the work program after the communication concerning the resumption dates of the championship, made official yesterday afternoon by the Lombardy Regional Committee of the NLD. The championship of Excellence will restart on January 16, with the second return day, which includes the transfer to the Vergiatese field for the Rossoneri. The recoveries already scheduled are postponed, with Sestese and Club Milano and also the heartfelt derby with Pavia, which should have been played at Parisi on 9 January, for the opening day of the second round. The Federation will establish the dates in which the aforementioned matches will be played, the only certainty is that the two recoveries, both at home, with Sestese and Club Milano, can be set from January 26 onwards.

The sporting director of Voghe Fulvio Riceputi explains the difficulties dictated by the changes to the calendar: «I understand very well that we are in a situation of health emergency and it is not at all easy to make decisions, but this climate of uncertainty about the dates is creating various problems for us. In these days, we have taken steps to organize the return to Voghera of three of our players who had reached their respective families, in order to have them available for the game scheduled for January 6 and now we are told that it has been postponed. It is not at all easy to plan the training sessions, modulating the workloads adequately, and any friendlies, without having precise certainties about the recovery ».

In the group that met on Monday at the Grassi di Pontecurone camp, there were no Lorusso and De Stradis, who returned to Puglia, and Bahirov, who reunited with his family in Ukraine for the Christmas holidays. The midfielder Calviello is also included in the list of absentees, who has reported a muscle problem and is waiting to undergo other checks to learn more about the extent of the trouble and the related recovery times. Just the stop due to an injury by Calviello could accelerate the inclusion in the squad of a new purchase for the midline: “On the market, we are evaluating a couple of under profiles”, explains director Riceputi. On the Covid issue, Vogherese has undergone a round of swabs in recent days, which has provided negative results for all members of the squad. –
