Renet Vanker (25) will also play in the Steengoed Arena next season. The Estonian playmaker extended his contract with Greenyard Maaseik for one season.
Vanker settled in Maasland in January 2022. The Estonian – who came from Selver Tallinn – replaced Javad Karimisouchelmai, who was out for a long time with an ankle injury. Vanker quickly grew into a basic player. This season he took steps forward as a pivot, and the Estonian showed great things, especially in the play-offs. And that now gives him a new contract for one season with the vice-champion. With Alex Saaremaa, who comes over from Aalst, new coach Guido Görtzen will have two Estonians under his wing
Maaseik previously also extended the agreements of captain Jolan Cox and libero Landon Currie. Miki Fornes was still under contract for another year. Three Belgian newcomers have already been brought in with Pierre Perin, Samuel Fafchamps and Tijmen Bus. (jus)
