In an intense match between Macará and Barcelona SC, the ‘law of the former’ was in full effect as goals from Darío Mina and Janner Corozo sealed a 1-1 draw in the sixth round of the Pro League.

Mina, a former bullfighter turned footballer, opened the scoring for Macará, but it was Corozo, who was launched into the professional field by the Ambateño team, who equalized for Barcelona SC. The match, held at the Bellavista de Ambato, was a vibrant battle between the two sides.

The game started with Macará showing their offensive intentions, with Mina coming close to scoring early on. However, it was Barcelona SC who responded, with Joao Rojas almost finding the back of the net for the visitors.

Despite the physical nature of the game, Macará took the lead through Mina’s goal, only for Barcelona SC to equalize before halftime through Corozo. A VAR review was needed to validate the goal, adding to the drama of the match.

Barcelona SC had opportunities to snatch a late victory, with a free-kick hitting the crossbar in the 82nd minute. However, both teams ultimately had to settle for a draw.

The result leaves Macará with work to do as they prepare to make their debut in the Copa Libertadores against Cobresal. Barcelona SC, on the other hand, will be looking to build on this result as they continue their campaign in the Pro League.
