Yang Hansen Joins Chinese Men’s Basketball Training Camp
The Chinese men’s basketball team has gathered in Qingdao to prepare for the upcoming Asian Cup qualifiers in February. Among the new faces in the training roster is 18-year-old center Yang Hansen from Qingdao. The Chinese Basketball Association has high hopes for Yang Hansen’s potential, but the team has expressed its commitment to not putting too much pressure on the young player.
Yang Hansen, who is playing his first year in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA), has already made a mark in the league, ranking among the top three in points, rebounds, and blocks per game for his team. His impressive performance has earned him a spot on the national team’s training roster.
Chinese men’s basketball coach Djordjevic praised Yang Hansen’s talent, stating, “Yang Hansen is a very good young player. He has a very high starting point, but he still has a long way to go and more efforts must be made.” Djordjevic also emphasized the importance of not overwhelming the young player with pressure and allowing him to grow at his own pace.
In response to his inclusion in the national team’s training camp, Yang Hansen expressed his enthusiasm, saying, “Of course I’m very happy to be able to join the national team. I hope to broaden my horizons and improve my level through training this time.”
The training roster for the Chinese men’s basketball team includes several fresh faces, signaling a focus on incorporating young talent into the national team system. Qiao Shuai, the team’s coach, emphasized the importance of nurturing young players, stating, “Every player in the talent pool is qualified to enter the national team. Young players are the future of Chinese basketball. We need to incorporate them into the national team system as soon as possible to provide them with better growth help.”
As the team prepares for the Asian Cup qualifiers, the inclusion of promising young talent like Yang Hansen reflects a new direction for Chinese men’s basketball, with a focus on long-term development and success.
