Yankees lowered Jeter Downs and Óscar González to Triple-A

The New York Yankees made some roster moves on Wednesday, with Colombian infielder Jeter Downs and Dominican outfielder Óscar González being demoted to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

In addition to these demotions, the Yankees also announced that outfielder Bubba Thompson has been claimed off waivers by the Minnesota Twins. Thompson had been acquired from the Cincinnati Reds earlier in the month, but was subsequently released on Jan. 19 to make room for right-hander Luke Weaver on the 40-man roster.

These moves represent the Yankees’ continued efforts to fine-tune their roster as they prepare for the upcoming season. Stay tuned for more updates as the team makes additional moves in the coming weeks.
