The Chinese women’s volleyball team embarked on a journey to Brazil yesterday to compete in the World Women’s Volleyball League, aiming to secure their spot in the upcoming Paris Olympics. The team, including standout players like Zhang Changning and Ding Xia, is gearing up to face off against formidable opponents from South Korea, the United States, Canada, and Serbia in the upcoming tournament in Rio de Janeiro.

Zhang Changning’s return to the national team marks a significant moment for the Chinese women’s volleyball team. After a hiatus following the Tokyo Olympics, where she underwent knee surgery, Zhang is back and ready to contribute to the team’s success. The 19-year-old attacker has an impressive track record, having been a key player in the team’s victories at the World Cup in 2015 and the Rio Olympics in 2016.

Meanwhile, Ding Xia, a veteran setter who played a crucial role in the team’s triumph at the Rio Olympics, has also rejoined the squad after a successful stint in the Polish Women’s Volleyball Super League. With Ding Xia’s return, the team now boasts a formidable lineup of setters, including Diao Linyu and Xu Xiaoting.

Notably absent from the roster for the Brazilian leg of the competition is Zhu Ting, who recently concluded her campaign in the Italian Women’s Volleyball League. Head coach Cai Bin has expressed his eagerness for Zhu Ting to join the team in time for the World League in Macau, emphasizing her importance to the team’s offensive strategy.

As the Chinese women’s volleyball team sets their sights on the Paris Olympics, the players are focused on honing their skills and working together towards their goal. With a mix of experienced veterans and promising young talents, the team is determined to secure their ticket to the upcoming Games and showcase their prowess on the world stage.
