The long-awaited AMD Ryzen 8000G APU has finally gone on sale in Hong Kong. Centralfield Nakata store manager John announced that the 8600G and 8700G models are now available for purchase at prices of HK$1,899 and HK$2,699, respectively.
These latest APUs from AMD are licensed by Jianda and offer support for all AMD A620, B650, and X670 platform AM5 motherboards. They come equipped with a Radeon 700M RDNA3 graphics core and XNDA AI computing unit, and are said to outperform the 14th generation Raptor Lake.
The Ryzen 8000G series utilizes a 4nm process and carries the codename Hawk Point. The 8600G features 6 cores, while the 8700G boasts 8 cores, both using Zen 4 full cores and being equipped with Ryzen AI computing units. Additionally, they come with powerful Radeon 760M (8CU) and 780M (12CU) graphics.
According to AMD’s data, the gaming performance of the Ryzen 8700G is up to 4 times faster than the Core i7-14700K and up to 1.31 times faster than the entry-level GeForce GTX 1650 graphics card. This makes the Ryzen 8000G series an excellent choice for building a Mini PC.
The Ryzen 5 8600G features 6C/12T, 5GHz, and 22M Cache, with a Radeon 760M GPU (8CU) and a 65W TDP, priced at HK$1,899. On the other hand, the Ryzen 7 8700G offers 8C/16T, 5.1GHz, and 24M Cache, with a Radeon 780M GPU (12CU) and a 65W TDP, priced at HK$2,699.
