Of course, the new iPhone 16 will be Apple’s highlight in autumn 2024, but the manufacturer doesn’t leave it at that. Insider and Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman now reveals that… The AirPods 4 will be released in September or October (Quelle: Bloomberg).
Accordingly, Apple’s suppliers become start production in May, so that corresponding quantities will be available when the market launches in autumn. This means that the successors to the AirPods 3 are coming onto the market three years after they were introduced, having been shown for the first time on October 18, 2021.

The reason for Apple’s dual strategy? According to the expert, the two models have to directly replace two AirPods. Apple wants to stop producing and selling the third and second generation AirPods. Until now, the manufacturer still had the second generation AirPods as the cheapest variant in its portfolio. The new AirPods 4 have to replace two models.

Future customers can expect a new design with a better fit, improved sound quality and an updated charging case with a USB-C port from the fourth generation. All of these features can be found right out of the box in the entry-level version of the AirPods 4.
