Official Modding System to be Launched for “Baldur’s Gate 3” PC
The popular fantasy RPG game “Baldur’s Gate 3” has been a hit among PC gamers, with its extensive modding capabilities adding to the overall fun of the game. However, the continuous release of major and minor updates has often caused conflicts with the mods, leading to frustration among players. In an effort to address this issue and reduce the overall operational pain points, developer Larian Studios has announced the launch of an official modding system for the game, applicable to both PCs and home game consoles.
The announcement comes shortly after the release of “Baldur’s Gate 3” update file “Official Patch No. 6,” which brought optimizations for visual details and improvements for various in-game bugs. However, the patch also caused new problems for players, leading to the launch of a hotfix update to address the issues.
In a tweet by publishing director Michael Douse, Larian Studios expressed their commitment to providing “robust” cross-platform module technical support, with an expected launch in the second half of 2024. Douse also mentioned that the team is actively working to communicate with the modding community and address the issues caused by game updates.
“We understand the frustration when a game update causes a mod to crash. Our community team will start communicating with the modding community in a circular manner. The work is currently in progress,” said Douse, emphasizing the studio’s support for the modding community and encouraging players to join the official Discord community for further updates.
With the official modding system and improved technical support on the horizon, “Baldur’s Gate 3” players can look forward to a more seamless experience with their mods on both PC and home game consoles. “Baldur’s Gate 3” is currently available for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S.
