The odyssey with annoying advertising calls that are gripping users could soon end, or at least be reduced. This is what Il Sole 24 Ore wrote today, according to which the Communications Regulatory Authority would be ready to reform the Communications Code.
Important news should arrive by March 24, 2024 which provides for greater power on the part of AGCOM towards annoying call centers, which may be subjected to fines for fraud or abuse from 50 thousand Euros up to one million Euros to those who encounter unfair commercial practices and who do not comply with current legislation regarding access to numbers and blocks. As we have explained on these pages, in fact, the opposition register has proven to be practically ineffective since call centers continue to draw from lists without taking usersā choices into account.
Among the other innovations of the new Code there should also be some new rules aimed at accelerating the development and installation of 5G infrastructure. In fact, local authorities are obliged to find alternative solutions in the event of refusal in order to avoid blocking the installation of the antennas.
